If you chose to be an owner builder for your permit, you will need to have a defects report completed by a building surveyor. Please contact our office to discuss.

  • I have built my project without a building permit, what do I do?

Retrospective building permits cannot be issued. Council can service a notice on you, in which you may then need to have an illegal works report completed. The construction also may need to be dismantled, a building permit to be issued, and then re-constructed. This varies on a case-by-case basis. Please contact our building surveyors to discuss any illegal works.

  • My building permit has expired, what do I do?

Once a building permit is expired, you must stop all work immediately, and a new building permit is required to be issued for the completion of the remaining works.

This is why it is important to take note of your commencement & completion dates on your building permit.
